"Poor service"

About: Pudsey Health Centre

Firstly, it is very difficult to make contact with this surgery and it often takes numerous calls to be connected. The receptionists are rude and don’t seem to want to listen. I have spoken to the receptionists a number of times both in person and over the telephone and it has never once been a pleasant experience. I haven’t received any information about flu jab drop in services and, had I not called, I would not have known about the drop in taking place in tow days which I am now unable to attend. When I asked if I could make an appointment with a nurse for my flu jab, I was told no and not given a reason. On a separate experience, I was referred by the podiatry nurse to a different surgery for minor surgery on an in growing toe nail and, after booking a day off work, arrived to be told that this surgery had failed to send the necessary paperwork and I was told to go home again. This is a very poor service and following today’s less than helpful conversation with a receptionist, I will be looking for a different surgery.

Thank you for your feedback which we always appreciate to help us to improve the level of service we offer.

We are disappointed that you have struggled to get in touch with us and confirm we are looking at ways to improve our service.

We appreciate our busy time is at 8am when the book on the day appointments become available and to combat this we have made all of our GP appointments (apart from the doctor on call) available to book online.

We are disappointed that you feel our reception staff are 'rude and don't listen' and if you can contact us directly by email on pudseyhc.surgery@nhs.net with specifics, we will investigate this further.

With regard to the flu season, unfortunately this year the flu vaccine deliveries have been staggered and we are still awaiting our final delivery.

With this in mind we have been unable to offer a flu drop in service this year as we have had to closely monitor the number of vaccines available.

We have however had several clinics available when both nurses and doctors have and will be vaccinating patients.

We still have spaces in these clinics and will be making more lunchtime and evening flu clinics available.

With regard to your podiatry referral please accept our sincere apologies for this.

If we have not already investigated this, please contact us directly by phone (0113 2570711) or email (pudseyhc.surgery@nhs.net) so that we can investigate and improve the service we offer.

Kind regards

Dr Ross & Partners
