"Lack of care & understanding"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Neurology

(as the patient),

My Hospital queen Elizabeth in Woolwich is not improving on their poor results with the CQC inspectors.

I have had great difficulty in getting the help i need for my 7 incurable diseases within the past 2 years and hoped that the new CEO would improve help for patients who are elderly and have long term health conditions.

Previously i had a care plan that took me a year of negotiating but this seems to have been lost with the new ceo. The plan told doctors and nursing staff that i have complex heath condition and may need help.

I have a rare disease Myasthenia Gravis which makes my muscles get weaker as i use them it also affects the weaker muscles be affected first like the throat when tired can get food stuck.

This happened to me one evening so i went to the hospital to get help as i could not drink anything or eat. I tried to explain to the nurses in emergency but none knew what my disease was so instead of seeing a doctor quickly i sat for an hour and a half getting weaker and had to leave without help whilst i had the energy to get home.

There was nothing on the computer to help the reception to understand. I also went for a scan a few months earlier and again nothing on the computer. I was almost assaulted by an angry radiologist who wouldn't listen to me. I had a walking stick and she shut the door in my face hitting the bottom of my stick.

I have seen reports where they say they are improving but not for me. I wrote to the new CEO about my care plan but I did not get a reply.

Update posted by Falling apart (the patient)

I wrote to the CEO 5 times and he did not reply. The complaints dept is something that he did, I never started a complaint.

My care plan has to be decided by the CEO. I was not consulted over the new care plan which should change in light of my health now. I.e. my muscle weakening disease is active again and I have skin cancer, this is not included and in his report he has not given a report on what the emergency did wrong.

The CEO said I could wait for 4 hours according to the government. He also asked 3 senior people to give a report on my care over the past 2 years. I was not informed or asked to contribute. I have asked to see their report as it concerns me.

The CEO has declared that I cannot respond to his report and that if I did it would be filed in the complaints dept but will not be answered. This goes against their own complaints policy, the NHS constitution and the Equality Act. The trusts values are: respect & dignity, working together for patients, commitments to quality care, compassion, improving lives. I feel everyone counts EXCEPT ME.
