"I should have a choice"

About: Devon Access and Referral Team (DART)

(as the patient),

I was referred to a consultant in Bristol Hospital by my consultant in my local Hospital , and my GP through the DART referral system 3 weeks ago. They told me they couldn't make an appointment. Why? I have a choice of Hospital and Consultant.

I feel like they are taking matters into their own hands and distributing appointments they think fit. I believe they are not sticking to the patients charter. Who are these people. What qualifications do they Have? Our lives are in their hands. Time wasted may and could be precious. I have found this system appalling

Dear ‘confusion’,

Thank you for feeding back to us about your experience of using the service and I’m sorry that you are not happy with how your referral was dealt with.

Without knowing more about the specifics of your referral, it is difficult for me to answer your questions. I would like to investigate further for you and so, if you are willing, I would be grateful if you could give me a call with your details so that I can look into what happened. My phone number is 01626 883702 and I work Monday to Friday, 8 until 4.

Kind regards,

Susan
