"My dog is treated better at the vets than the..."

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

I am absolutely disgusted with the with the attitudes and misinformation, or should i say NO information given to my partners recent stay at The Royal!!!! My partner was admitted with eye trauma. She had 50/50 vision and a suspected bleed on the brain. She was left sat in the cold A&E area for over 24 hours, with out anyone asking if she was ok! She was only taken through to major injuries when her mum and i arrived and within 10 mins of complaining she was given a temporary bed, IV paracetamol to alleviate the intense pain.

The attitude problems from the nurses was disgusting!!! Absolutely no bedside manor at all. And we even observed one nurse peak to a 92year old man with a huge attitude problem. We ended up helping the elderly gentleman to the A&E entrance for his taxi as they told him 'Go away and sit down'!!!!

My partner waited a further 12 hours before any observations were taken and a meagre jug of water provided!!!

She was discharged 12 hours later with no nurse to explain what was going on, NO doctor to review, explain or to at least explain and go through the CT and MRI scans with her, She was handed a bundle of letters and told to go home and read her results!!! SHE HAS 50/50 EYE TRAUMA WITH A SLIGHT BLEED ON THE BRAIN!!!! SHE CANNOT READ!!!!

When this was explained the nurse shrugged her shoulders and walked away. So my partner then took multiple buses home and which took her over 3 hours and a couple of wrong buses!!!! Fuming is an understatement. My dog receives better care and bedside manor than what was provided at the Royal.

I will be forwarding our complaint in more details to higher powers.. Personally i will be voicing my concerns to other people when they mention the royal, and my partner, well my partner is currently resting and we will be seeing someone tomorrow about receiving treatment for the neurological eye trauma she has received and finding out how and what can be done with the small bleed/swelling on her brain and for the results and paperwork to be explained to us
