Cannot fault any of the staff at the Breast Cancer Clinic, I was so worried as had been referred after discovering a lump. All staff I saw on the day of the appointment were caring and compassionate, and thankfully the diagnosis was a benign lump. The appointment system needs looking at though. An appointment was sent to me, I was going to be away so I rang the number on the letter. I was told I could not get another appointment via the quoted number and had to talk to Breast Cancer Unit direct. This i duly did and was sent another appointment. I then had a letter to say I had cancelled the appointment and I needed to phone the original number to make another one. I rang Breast Cancer Unit instead to confirm my changed appointment was still booked, which it was. The same letter arrived twice more to say I had cancelled an appointment but to ignore the letter if I had rearranged. Over the course of the next week i also had the appointments automated number ring my home number, presumably to get me to make another appointment! My issue is why quote a telephone number on a letter that cannot help when trying to rebook, and as the unit had organised a replacement appointment why did I get two more letters and numerous phone calls about rearranging? A complete waste of money and admin..
