"Guernsey House too far"

About: Guernsey House / Primary care addiction service Sheffield (PCASS)

(as the patient),

Sometimes I feel like it is to far to travel, though I can claim my bus expense back, not always do I have the money to buy the ticket to claim back.

Thanks for your comment. We really appreciate your feedback.

As a citywide service based in the S2 postcode area we recognise that there will be times when our location is a long distance for some people to travel to. To help with this, our location is on a frequent bus route in and out of the city centre and as you mention we have a travel expenses reimbursement policy which helps to keep costs down for patients who are on certain benefits. The rules of the travel scheme mean that we can't pay out money up front to people and can only reimburse on production of a valid bus receipt for that day and with written proof of the benefits being received. The proof of benefit must be no more than three months old to be accepted.

If you are finding it difficult to get to appointments because of the travel costs you may find it helpful to discuss this with your doctor or keyworker here at Guernsey House.

Best wishes
