Brought my daughter in as she is experiencing anxiety which is impacting her daily life style massivley. She wont go out as she get attacks very oftern she wont get on public transport she applies for jobs and cant attend interviews as its so bad she ends up in tears, its stopping her from sleeping as she is worried if she sleeps she wont wake up. She gets chest pains that are there constantly.

Shes has xrays shes had ecg an bloods done we went back last night as nothing is easing off and to my disgust the doctor told her to down load an app on her phone !!!! Is this what the NHS is coming too absolutely appalling we ask for help and get told to down load an ap.

Thank you for your comment. When people are experiencing anxiety we try to offer a range of solutions to help people cope. We usually suggest talking therapy, exercise, relaxation and mindfulness techniques of which there are good quality examples available on smartphones. We do not simply suggest apps and we also always suggest a follow up appointment to consider further options if none of these help. If your daughter wasn’t happy with the advice given she is really welcome to make a further phone or face to face appointment with the same doctor or a different one if she prefers.
