I had my cataract operation last week, cannot recommend it enough.
My sight went from -8.5D to -14.0D with the cataract - but it crept up on over some years me so I did not realise how bad my sight had become. After the operation I'm basically at 0.00D in the operated eye but a bit more dependent on reading glasses - but hey I'm 62 years old so no problem its expected. .
Things I would say are:-
1) Hospital is well equipped - lasers etc
2) Staff and Consultants very helpful - consultants are to best to ask if you have questions.
3) Totally painless not even much discomfort in the following days
4) Recovery took 48 hours - was a bit blurry for 48 hours..
If you have a cataract I would not wait to have it done unless you some other problem with your eye. I am now waiting to get my second eye done.
