"Dangerous advice"

Daughter had a myringoplasty, rang for further pain relief advice.

Told no available appointments with doctor and unable to speak to a nurse, that I could get appointment with own GP in 2 days. ( It was a Saturday).

Informed it would be categorised as ear pain.

Advice was

To place wet cloth on ear, I informed adviser stitches and packing could not get wet.

Told to remove packing as advice is to remove anything in the ear, if I had if done this the graft would have dislodged and made the whole of the surgery pointless.

I was told I had to stay on the line to listen to advice eventhough none of it was relevant. The lady even asked a colleague for advice as she recognised from what I was saying that the advice was wrong. She was told she had to continue giving the incorrect advice.

My worry is that someone follows this dangerous and incorrect advice in future.
