What could be improved

Most things

Anything else?

After complaining about a consultant, i have found out that i will never know what the out come will be, i will not even be told if he is aware that i complained about him, so what is the point of PALS or your complaints dept, also i recieved a letter saying that i did not attend a outpatients appointment, which i did not arrange, i did not want this appointment and i did confirm this appointment, and you tell me that i am discharged from your waiting list. Now lets get the fact right, i turned up to an appointment at your Endoscopy dept on 29th Dec 11, at 8am for a 8.15 appointment, and this the important bit, at 9.30 i still had not been seen, so i went home, i was first on the list but 3 people went in before me, so before you send out letters saying that i did not attend an appointment why dont you send out a letter saying that your endoscopy dept is not very good and you are sorry for wasting my time.

I am very sorry to hear of your experience, as I am sure you will appreciate formal complaints raised about members of staff are dealt with through the formal line management process, regretfully we are unable to disclose the outcome of these complaints as they are confidential. I hope that I can assure that any complaints made about members of our staff are investigated thoroughly and action is taken where appropriate.

I am sorry that you received a letter saying that you did not attend for your endoscopy appointment; I will raise this issue with the trust wide matron for endoscopy.

If we can be of any further assistance please contact our Patient Experience Team via email at patientexperience@ekht.nhs.uk or 01227 864314
