"King's Mill Hospital locum pharmacist"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

I forgot to fill my prescription for a controlled drug. Did not realise until late Saturday night. Phoned 111 and, after running around three pharmacies, was told I needed 111 again as I had been misinformed. Cannot just turn up at a pharmacy. I went to out of hours and saw Dr S. He was very calm, caring and patient. He explained that he would write a prescription for 4 tablets to tide me over the weekend; exactly what I requested. He said that, as you don't have a pharmacist on site for controlled drugs, a lady would have to be sent for. The locum pharmacist came at about 1. 40 am. I was mortified that I had had to have her called in. She told me that it was absolutely no problem as she had other scripts to fill. I even asked her if I could tip her but she said she wouldn't dream of it. What a lovely lady. She didn't seem very old but she was very empathetic, kind and put me at ease. I hardly ever use the NHS but, when I do, my experience is always positive. Keep up the good work. You're doing a fine job in very obvious adverse circumstances at times.
