"Cardiac Care"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

I was airlifted in to the hospital last Sunday after having a heart attack on the summit of Carrock Fell. The care that I received was brilliant, couldn't be faulted. I was looked after so well and given all the information and help that I needed. I am now home with a pile of pills and hopeful of a full recovery.

Thank you so much to everyone involved in the Cardiac Care Unit and the doctor and his wife who were on the Fell when I became ill and helped me and coordinated the rescue. It was so nice that that doctor actually came the the CCU ward the next day to see how I was doing and I have spoken to his wife, who also works at the hospital, by email as well.

Wonderful hospital.

Dear Brian,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on our website.

It must have been a traumatic experience for you, being air lifted to hospital after having a heart attack at the summit of Carrock Fell. It was indeed fortunate that a doctor was nearby to help coordinate your rescue. I hope that you were not in too much distress during your transfer.

It is pleasing to hear that you received such good and informative care in CCU.

Thank you for giving us the option to share your kind comments with the teams involved in your care. I am sure that they will be delighted to receive your positive feedback.

With our very best wishes to you for your continued recovery, don’t forget to take all that new medication!
