About: West Cumberland Hospital / Maternity

Thanks to the quick actions of the staff midwives and surgeons of the Labour ward I am here today! My uterus ruptured during labour and if id of hesitated and not gone to hospital when I did I wouldn't of made it. If it wasnt for the maternity department of WCH my baby would of suffocated and I'd of bled to death. We had 20 minutes to get the surgery we needed to keep us both alive and thanks to the maternity department we both made it. I cannot thank the staff the midwives and surgeons enough for keeping me and my baby boy alive you are all amazing. I'd also like to thank the lovely midwives on labour ward and and maternity ward for looking after us and making us feel comfortable while we were there you are all amazing at what you do. Thank You

Dear Kelly,

Firstly, please accept our congratulations on the birth of your son. What a traumatic experience you have had but thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us via NHS Choices.

The staff work tremendously hard to ensure patients receive the best care possible and I am sure everyone was delighted that the outcome was a positive one for you both.

Your comments demonstrate this is a whole team approach to the care delivered on a daily basis here at NCUH (North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust).

I am sure that the teams involved will be delighted to receive this feedback.

Best wishes to all the family.
