Although this has been an unwelcome experience accompanying my husband (newly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer) we cannot complain about our experience to date.
We have been seen every 2 weeks by a consultant, first in Haematology and then Oncology, since 22 August as well as, during this period, my husband has had ultra sound, gastroscopy, MRI scan, blood tests, PET CT scan, liver biopsy and bone marrow biopsy.
We have also had the pleasure of being introduced to a specialist nurse.
We were particularly impressed with the time and compassion devoted to us by a Consultant Haematologist before transferred to Oncology.
We attended the 3-hour Demistfying Chemotherapy course which was very informative.
We are impressed with the MacMillan volunteers.
Basically we are in a situation we don't want to be in but everyone has been wonderful.
