"No named consultant or info available"

About: Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust

Since my gran was admitted to Southport hospital a few weeks ago, we have been trying to speak to her named consultant about her conditions as she is 92 with a variety of different health problems. It's v debatable whether she can continue to live independently and we would love to have a proper talk with her doctor about this, so we plan accordingly. Previously when she's been in hospital, as she has been quite regularly these last few years, we have known who her consultant is but we can't see to get a name or a meeting with anyone to discuss her long term care, despite asking the staff on various occasions. We shouldn't just be dependent on piecemeal information from the busy doctors on ward rounds - it's impossible to plan her care based on this. I was under the impression all patients has a named consultant and that we would be able to request a family meeting but this has not been the case. My gran is very deaf and confused so is unfortunately not able to handle this herself.
