i was taken by ambulance from Skipton Heath Centre as they could not stem my nosebleed. They had tried everything but my blood pressure and the volume of the bleed in the hour their was concerning. They called an ambulance that took me and my nose bleed to Airedale. I had lost over 300 ml of blood. During that time Arriving at Airedale at about about 6:30 I was taken to a waiting area with no water cups. I continued bleeding without much care or interventions until it became desperate at around midnight. By this time I had lost a total of over 1 litre of blood. I was fitted with a rhino to stem the bleed, told to get out the treatment room and promptly passed out. I was put on a drip and finall escaped having waited a further 3 hours for an ambulance that did not come, with my partner driving me to Bradford RI.
I am now having to very slowly recover from the impact of loosing so much blood. All of which could have been treated very differently. This is effecting my life and work.
I will avoid ever having to go anywhere near this hospital again in my life.
"Awful experience"
