My waters broke so i went to the pregnancy assessment unit and they sent me to the birth suite as i had meconium in the waters.
The room was lovely and clean and they gave me a pill and a drip to kick start the labour and when the pain was so bad the midwife was only to happy to offer an epidural which was the best thing ever!. The midwives monitored me very well all night but when the doctors did their rounds they said the baby was in distress and i went into shock so i had an emergency c section straight away. The experience was extremely scarey but the theatre staff were lovely and so calm and my baby girl was delivered safely. In recovery i had a blood transfusion then back on the ward. Over the next couple of days the staff were brilliant although they were so busy they gave me all the time to help me through the tauma and pain.
I just want to say how grateful i am of all the staff from the midwives to the lovely porter lady who i will never forget. I highly recommend the hospital as they were so efficient and professional but also they put me at ease completely.
Thank you all so much as my baby and i are now in good health and we are also booked into the birth reflections programme which i highly recommend if anyone has gone through a traumatic birth.
