"Over the years seen a big change in the way I'm treated"

About: Crosshouse Hospital University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Think the staff have treated me with respect and very helpful even though I have a large history with the department over the years seen a big change in the way your treated, now its 'I am a person' rather than a 'mental health problem' or 'complex case' which I was introduced as at crosshouse hospital few years back. staff at ayr A+E are understanding have alot of time and patience with me, no matter the reason I am in. This makes me feel better, restores my faith in some hospitals but never can fault ayr. Friendly have a laugh and always have my safety and welfare first which is a major change for any hospital

Dear roxybaby

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the care you receive within the ED at UHA.

Firstly I would like to say sorry that, in the past, you have felt like a 'mental health problem' or 'complex case'. As the manager for the site this really does sadden me as anyone attending our services should be seen as an individual person who has specific needs and requires our expert opinion/treatment.

It is great to hear your story and how you have seen the changes over the years. I am also pleased to hear that you are able to laugh with the staff, I feel this is important for both patient and staff and helps to alleviates anxieties during what can be a very stressful time.

I will ensure that your feedback back is shared with the team in the ED and I know this will be gratefully received.

Thank you once again for the positive feedback

Best wishes

John
