"Nurse appointment"

About: St Johns Way Medical Centre

Recently gave the surgery five star review, however today very disappointed. To see a GP is great and can see someone quickly and urgently when needed. However I went into the surgery today after hospital to try and book nurse appointment for the next day for dressing change. The receptionist tried his best but was unable to get an appointment in the surgery or any other surgery for over a week. As I need daily dressing changes this was not possible to wait. Communication between the hospital specialist and the GP surgery doesn’t seem to have happened.

My only option given was to go to urgent care each day, which seems a waste of time and money on services when not required but I understand this was the only option available.

The only reason I’m leaving this review is so that the surgery can try and find a way to avoid sending patients to Urgent care for something that can be done elsewhere.

Thank you for your comment and I am sorry we are unable to accommodate your request on this occasion.

We can only offer the appointments that we have available i am afraid.

We work closely with our colleagues at the urgent care centre and when situations like this arise we have to make use of their services to fulfill the patient need.

It may be worth checking back with us periodically as availability does change both within the surgery and our ihub appointments within our local network.

Many thanks,

Jack Johnson-Rose

Practice Manager
