A special thank you to the Pain Management Team at Goring Hall Hospital.
I have been through various doctors and consultants over many years without much success due to “failed back surgery syndrome”, “extremely low back pain” and with “neuropathic pain” in both legs.
I wish I could name him, but unfortunately the rules do not allow me,
The consultant who I’ve been seeing for some time has been a great help in recommending various medications, reducing my high opiates, and starting me on Ketamine infusions and now on Ketamine oral at home.
He’s experience with pain medicines and the professionalism and expertise he shows me is greatly appreciated.
I have dyslexia and to have somebody who has the time to fully explain which medicines I am on and what they do is greatly received, not many professionals would take the time to ensure you know what you’re taking and what the pros and cons are fully.
For Goring Hall Hospital to have such an asset is a win win for the patient, consultant pain specialist and also the hospital.
Not forgetting the IV department, which gives the procedure treatment is second to none, They are a small team but extremely professional set of individuals, very caring and understanding on your condition and their duty of care for you, I was given the option of having the IV Infusions in a extremely comfortable chair which can recline if needed or an individual room with separate toilet facilities.
How many hospitals can offer this service?
My son had to take me in for my infusions over quite a few months and he was made to feel most welcome all the time not just for the one week.
I am still under the hospital and the pain management team, it gives me great pleasure in saying what a wonderful team they all are, I wish I could name them all and let them get the recognition they should all be allowed to see written here .
I wouldn’t want to see anybody in extreme pain and discomfort as I am in, but if you are in the same situation as I have been with various consultants and hospitals over many years, Goring Hall Hospital and the Pain management team are certainly worth enquiring about.
