"My mum was looked after very well"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Mum was admitted to the ED with Dementia and delirium, all the staff were fantastic and looked after her very well.

One nurse Thomas asked her her favourite song and she started to sing, he then looked it up on his phone and played it to her, he left the whole Nat King Cole album playing in the background and I have not seen her so relaxed for a long time.

He had a real connection with her and made all our time there very pleasant, while under difficult circumstances, thanks again to everyone from the family, but especially to Thomas for being the kind and funny person that he is.

Hi NHS Lanarkshire!

Sorry we couldn't identify the hospital in this story. We did try to contact "Mammybear" but as we can see they've also shared a story about recently giving birth, so we imagine they might be a bit busy! 👶

However, we are keeping our fingers crossed that you can identify Thomas and the right ED - he needs a pat on the back, doesn't he. Very thoughtful, wonder if he's heard of Playlist for Life!
