"Other than the trauma of actually getting an..."

About: Mid & South Buckinghamshire Diagnostic NHS Centre

What I liked

I cannot fault the letter sent to me after securing an appointment at the clinic, the actual visit ,the staff and the echocardiogram procedure.

What could be improved

The process that I had to go through to actually get an appointment was abysmal and needs to be addressed pronto as it is an utter waste of the patients and clinic's time and resources.

Anything else?

It took me a good two days to get an actual appointment. Why, when you call the number you are not put in touch with someone who will give you an appointment, there and then, like most places, is beyond me. When you phone the clinic they take your name and number and say they will call you back.Sometimes they did, other times they did not. I gave my landline number and I was not there when the clinic called back so a couple of messages were left. The rigmarole had to start again. Me calling the clinic. Someone tried to put me through at one point as I was, politely I may add, losing my rag, but the line went dead. This is all worrying as it is a waste of the clinics time and resources and the patients.

When a patient calls they should be put through to "appointments" and given a convenient date suitable to both parties. Simples. Nothing mind boggling at all. That is one phone call by the patient and the task is done and dusted after the initial call left by the clinic for the patient to contact them.
