About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

I visited A and E over the weekend with what I thought was a suspected blood clot,I got there early knowing I would have to wait a while.....I got to see a member of staff who dealt with my problem thoroughly. She put me at ease and listened to me. Even though my bloods came back showing nothing wrong the member of staff still scheduled me an appointment for a scan on my leg for Monday just to be sure because of the pain I had...Doing this put my mind at ease very much......So I'd like to say Thank you for everything you did for me even though your rushed off your feet.............

.

.

PS. I think eating in A and E should not be allowed due to the fact that there are people who are already feeling sick and actually being sick outside so the smell of food is not helping.......

Thank you for your kind words Lisa, which I’ve shared with my Emergency Department colleagues. I am glad you felt well cared for and we were able to help you feel at ease. Thank you for your suggestion regarding patients and visitors eating in the Emergency Department. I am sorry to hear this did not help your experience. Although we would not seek to stop patients who are waiting to be seen from eating if they need to, we do ask they behave in a manner that is considerate towards others in the waiting area. If you are waiting to be seen and something another person in the waiting area is doing is causing you distress or discomfort, please speak to a member of staff and they will support you.

Kind regards

Clare Mayfield
