"Very pleasantly surprised"

Having read some rather negative comments about the clinic, I was a bit concerned about going there but it was Saturday afternoon meaning my GP surgery would be closed. I was getting heart palpitations and feeling very anxious but didn't want to go to A & E so it seemed the best option. I was bit put off when I arrived as the only person on reception was a security officer who told me the receptionist was at lunch so I had to wait quite a while. In the meantime several other people were in the queue behind me also getting impatient. Eventually the officer went to find the receptionist as a couple had arrived with a 2 year old who had a fever and a rash and obviously needed prompt attention.

Once the receptionist arrived, everyone was dealt with quickly and politely and I didn't have to wait long before I was called. I was shown into a treatment room with a nurse who asked me some questions and gave me an ECG. She was very kind and efficient and told me thought my ECG looked normal but wanted the doctor to check and to go back to the waiting room until I was called. After around 40 minutes the doctor called me in and took her time to explain about my ECG result and why I needn't be anxious about my symptoms. She assured me that if she had any doubt she would have sent me straight to A & E and I felt fully confident in her diagnosis. She answered all my questions thoroughly and I never felt I was being rushed.

The only thing I would suggest is that maybe there should be someone covering lunch time on reception but apart from that I left feeling much more relaxed and re-assured. I would not hesitate to return to the clinic if I needed to.
