"Disappointed with Vitreo Retinal Emergency Clinic"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

We attended the VRE Clinic after a referral by our local hospital and my optometrist.i have been turned away numerous times for surgery as theatre slots were given to other patients who had more priority. Patients were assessed and I was informed those with minor retinal detachment will be seen as priority to avoid loss of vision. I felt unimportant and was pushed back and back because i have a detached retina and macular tear. I was treated like i had no hope and becuase my vision was already damaged, there was no point to rush the surgery. I feel like i wasnt givem the opportunity to do the surgery and attempt to salvage sight. I am unable to work and all my plans have been put on hold and i feel held hostage at this teams process and procedures.
