"The Centre is closed caused unnecessary cost..."

My wife had an allergic reaction to antibiotics she was given the night before. So we travelled down to the centre and parked paying £5.10 only to find that the medical centre is shut and has been since mid September. Yet when we checked on the website it shows opening times.

We rang 111 and they were not aware of the centre closure, they advised us to go to A&E. The Website needs an overhaul as the only reference to closure is in latest news. All the times of opening are still in place. The notice in the latest news needs to be spell checked.

We went to A & E and doctor prescribed new antibiotics and a new epi pen. At the pharmacy they would not provide an epic pen as the doctor had prescribed one that they could not issue due to cost so we should go back to the doctors and get a new prescription. £3.20 PARKING at the hospital again. This could have ended very badly with all the delays, fortunately my wife is recovering.

We can assure you that we informed the local NHS111 provider of the centre closure and I’m sorry to hear that you were not provided with the correct information. I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t receive the treatment you would have liked at A&E, and would encourage you to contact the hospital directly if you would like further explanation regarding your experience there.
