I was admitted into the Urology Unit at Kent and Canterbury Hospital for the above procedure in June of this year.
My Consultant took the time to explain each step of the procedure calmly and in detail, while also giving me the opportunity to ask questions. His manner and approach gave me both confidence and trust and my dread about the whole process was lessened. I had an epidural anaesthetic which alleviated the possible side-effects from strong drugs and so consequently, I was able to go home the following day.
Obviously, I was somewhat apprehensive about my admittance to the hospital for this procedure, but the staff on Clark Ward made me comfortable and they were attentive and always available when needed. Although I was not on the ward long enough to eat much, the Catering Staff made some nicely presented sandwiches for me, which I enjoyed just before I went home.
My thanks to everyone in Urology for their help and kindness.
