I was referred for a total hip replacement and had my first appointment at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in August. On this occasion I had a hip X-ray, had a consultation with the consultant orthopaedic surgeon, saw the occupational therapist and attended the joint school.
My second appointment was for a pre assessment and on this occasion I saw a nurse practitioner, pharmacist and anaesthetist. I had blood tests done and swabs for MRSA were taken.
I was offered two short notice appointments for surgery but was unable to take them up. I was then admitted for surgery.
On every occassion all staff, without exception, were courteous, cheerful and efficient. There appeared to be good team work and the accelerated recovery program was effective. I cannot praise the staff enough for making my experience as comfortable as possible, giving me confidence and helping me to to feel safe.
The hospital appears clean and bright.
In these days when nhs staff are under huge pressure it is really good to be able to experience such professional care.
