My 3yo son was taken to hospital at 1:30am Saturday to Sunday by ambulance with high temperature and heart rate. At the arrival they were taken to pediatrics where my son was seen by the nurse who only ever checked temperature. After this she informed my wife that my child would not be seen by pediatrician as.... there aren’t any in the building as it was after 2am!! She has been given a piece of paper with a phone number for After Hours GP who was located in the very same hospital building. During the call my wife was informed she had to wait for an hour to for a call back. After over an hour GP called and said she can go home as he looked at the notes and paracetamol will be the best option! He made diagnose without seeing my child who was in the very same building. He didn’t listen to his chest, didnt measure heart rate, he did NOTHING!! We had to call our private medical insurance and had this sorted via that. Newham Hospital service was below any acceptable level and my child received no help despite of ambulance crew deciding it was compulsory to go to the hospital. How is it even possible that pediatrics ward do not have a pediatrician?!!
Absolute disgrace
"Simply pathetic"
