"Excellent care from Radiographer"

I would like to pass on praise and appreciation for the care, attention and information that Radiographer, Sue Bassie, has afforded me.

Sue is clearly very knowledgable and proficient in her field and has also mastered the ability to relay appropriate and understandable information to her patients.

The first time I was seen for ultrasound (June 2011), the process was more intense and time consuming, involving biopsies. Naturally inquisitive I was asking lots of questions but more so, as the potential seriousness of her findings seemed apparent, I persisted in trying to get some indication from Sue as to the seriousness (whilst also appreciating her predicament and professional responsibility to not commit).

Sue responded exactly within her professional remit whilst explaining as much as she possibly could. At the time I was most impressed and the only reason I didn't offer feedback then was because I hadn't noted her name.

This week I had a second ultrasound and again (although nothing serious this time) I was treated with care and respect making me feel totally at ease and involved in what was happening. Sue also seems to go beyond the boundaries of what I would expect by encouraging and promoting good breast care awareness, and stressing that no matter how insignificant a change may be to always get it checked out.

Nothing is too much trouble and again, importantly, the process doesn't feel rushed - you feel like you are the only person she has to deal with that day.

Last year I had surgery and naturally throughout the whole journey, you come into contact with many different people and supporting services, and all at CHH were excellent; but what always stands out, apart from my Consultant (Miss McManus) and the staff on the Breast Care Ward, was the Radiographer.

I hope Sue gets to see this - she is excellent.
