I attended BPAS Merseyside Clinic recently October 2018. From the moment I walked into the clinic to the moment I went out, i was treated with so much respect and understanding, I felt completely at ease. I was getting surgical procedure under general anaesthetic - my experience was very positive and would recommend anybody going through the same process to get general as you are completely asleep during procedure and you wake up in recovery. One thing I would highlight for anyone going for surgical is your appointment time given is your arrival time not when the surgery will be performed. You are seen shortly after the allocated time and then given medication either inserted by yourself into vagina or under tongue and you are required to wait 2-3 hours before called for surgery. During this time, you will experience cramps higher intensity that your average period, the nurse will provide you with ibuprofen and some water. I would recommend maybe bringing a hot water bottle as it is uncomfortable. I was vomiting as well (prob down to hunger as well) and did have some diarrhoea. These are all normal side effects. However as soon as the procedure is performed all cramps and pain disappear. I really couldn’t fault the clinic or staff. Two staff members were fantastic and I really can’t thank them enough. I would not normally write reviews but I wanted to give insight into a positive experience especially when online can be full of negative ones and hopefully this will help someone.
