"prejudiced against transgender patients"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Pain Management

(as a service user),

I attended an appointment at the Pain Management clinic and received great treatment but due to circumstances it was agreed that I would have to wait for any further treatment I was told that treatments had changed a lot since I had first been injured back in 1976, during the time between appointments I accepted that I was transgender, on returning to the pain management all my details had been changed from male to female and I was dressed as female my patient records had also been changed.   at the clinic even though my appointment was for 13.30 hrs I was left until the clinic was about to close and several people with later appointments after mine had been in and gone home. on entering the Pain management doctor took one look at me put their head back.  I felt they were  looking down their nose at me and kept addressing me by my former name and then dictated a letter/notes still using my former name many times and then just said that there is nothing they can do for me and discharged me back to my own doctor.  when I said that at the last appointment you said that there are many new treatments now available that was not available when I was first injured the doctor just said there is nothing to be done for me so I walked out.   the nurse came after me saying she was so sorry with the way I had been treated and that it was not normally the way they treat patients.

due to the way I was upset, I just left and tried to forget what happened.
