"They went beyond the call of duty."

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Palliative Care

(as a relative),

Our mother was admitted to ward 208 on a Monday and sadly passed away on the Thursday of the following week. Her health deteriorated on the Wednesday and she was moved to a single room for some privacy. The staff were fantastic at what was a very difficult time for us as a family.

My brother and I slept in the room for 10 nights to be with our mum and at no time were we made to feel as though we were in the way. They went beyond the call of duty and ensured that we were alright. They made us coffee and toast in the middle of the night, supplied blankets and even toothbrushes for us. Mum had the best possible care and we can't thank the staff enough. They are a credit to the ward and to the hospital.

Dear Catfen,

Many thanks for taking the time to give us your positive feedback during what must have been a very stressful and difficult time for you and your family.

It was humbling to read your kind words and I will ensure that your comments are shared with the ward 208 team. Our staff strive very hard to provide patient centred, compassionate care and it is so kind of you to share your personal experience.

Our thoughts are with you all at this very sad time.

Kind regards

Linda Carmichael
