"Great hospital, with a few drawbacks."

About: Chase Farm Hospital

I'm overall happy with the hospital. I've visited them every day for almost two week for wound dressing change following a surgery. The staff were very helpful, answered my questions about the wound and healing process. The waiting time was fine, about one hour most of the time though I've had a couple of times when I waited for three hours at the UCC.

What left a bad impression is connected with a procedure my wife had to have there. We had been given an appointment at 9;30. But as best as worked we were late by 10 minutes. We had called the department 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time and explained the situation. They said nothing can be done but giving us another appointment one month later which we refused over the phone.

Upon arriving at the hospital we checked in and I spoke with an assistant there. She said she will ask the doctor if he can get the procedure on my wife done after having finished with the patient which was taken at 9:30 instead of my wife. That patient would be the on scheduled after my wife. So once he finished with the second, now first patient the assistant told us that he is running late for a meeting in another hospital. I'm wondering now what would have happened if my wife had been there on time. Would the doctor not have time for the second patient? He'd still be running late for his appointment. And when the patients are the ones to be kept waiting for 30-60 minutes despite having a set appointment it's somehow fine. But when the patient is late with only 10 minutes that is intolerable and we have to wait for another month. This is not just and u hope that doctor gets stuck in traffic and runs late for the rent of his life.
