I was scheduled to undergo an elective C-section for our second child at Heartlands via the private MUMS Clinic in Solihull however, I went into spontaneous labour 2 days before. My Consultant (from MUMS) was abroad at the time. Upon arrival at Heartlands, my husband and I were seen to very quickly. The team and all the theatre staff were very attentive and professional, and ensured that I was taken down to theatre promptly to avoid prolonged labour.
My husband and I had arranged for the Consultant at MUMS to facilitate the banking our baby’s cord blood and tissue via Cells4Life. Naturally we panicked when I went into labour as our Consultant was unavailable however, the Consultant stepped in and helped arrange for a phlebotomist to attend the hospital to carry out the procedure.
Following the safe and quick delivery of our son, I was taken down to the postnatal Ward. The staff on the ward were professional, courteous and extremely helpful.
I was very concerned about attending this hospital after reading some of the reviews on the maternity unit however, I can say that I had no reason to be concerned as the treatment my husband, son and I received exceeded our expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend the maternity unit based on my own experience, and I would not hesitate to attend the unit again should my husband and I decide to have a third child! Thank you to all the staff who were involved in the safe delivery of our son and our care. Keep up the amazing work.
