I was given a 9am appointment at Ambulatory care. I didn't have to wait too long before some initial tests were taken and then I was sent for an x ray. Then saw the Dr who was extremely helpful and understanding - an expert in respiratory. The department is small and cramped and the rooms are in need of a fresh coat of paint however, the kindliness and friendliness of the staff more than compensated for this. I felt it was amazing that
I was able to see a specialist who resolved my difficulties so that I left the hospital able to breathe better again. I was also given follow up advice and contact details should I need further help. I have subsequently used that and the Drs secretary in Respiratory care has been nothing but kind and helpful. To me the RUH and the NHS provided a Rolls-Royce service and in terms of the tatty, cramped space, it's good to read that there are plans to change this in the future.
