"Gastric sleeve surgery experience"

About: Salford Royal

Hello

I had the gastric sleeve surgery 12 months ago I am a 56 year old man weight before surgury just over 22 stone

Now 16 Stones

Wow ! What can I say I'm over the moon with the whole experience I would and do recommend this surgury to anyone especially to have it done at Salford royal

My whole experience in every aspect of my journey has been great . All the clinicians and medical professionals

Have treated me with great respect and professionalism

You have to be patient determined and driven to get the surgury but the results are amazing

You need to do as much research as possible before the op and be extremely organised for your eating needs immediately after the operation

The surgery went very well only pain killers for one day after the op and back to work after 12 days .The more you follow the guidebooks the better your recovery will be . My only reccomendation after the surgury will be to make sure you have a good supply of movicol or other laxative medication as the constipation can be quite severe but does not last fortunately and everything has been perfectly normal ever since

Please remember not to try to rush things it's really a small step at a time

The operation is only 50% of your weight loss journey and life after surgury to . You will always need to work with it . I have really not suffered any ill effects from the operation apart from vomiting on an odd occasion through my own fault of either eating to fast or to much but you soon learn not to do it again

Good luck to everyone having this op
