"Lovely staff but parking is a real nightmare"

About: St John's Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Left 2 hours ahead of my appointment as I had been warned about the parking didn't realise how bad it was till I got there. 40 minutes circling the car park this was 9. 30 am so as I dont know the area went yo the coop then noticed can only park an hour so I had to leave that car park as a mum off 5 no way I can afford the £100 charge. Went back to the hospital car park to circle it another 3 minutes doing million point turns as there were cars parked everywhere 3 on a tight bend corner finally got a space 5 minutes before my appointment which I had to run to with a baby and didn't have a clue where I was going. Staff were lovely can't fault them just the car park it's a nightmare I honestly hope I dont get another appointment here.

Thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback.

Car parking is a significant challenge on the site and I appreciate how stressful it can be trying to find an available space.

We are constantly looking at ways to improve access by allocating additional spaces for patients and relatives, promoting the use of public transport, car sharing and active travel but clearly this has not been enough.

Please accept my apologies for what must having a very negative experience.

I was glad to read that you found the staff lovely and thank you for sharing this with us.
