I was rushed in to A&E with a very high temperature of 40.9. I was in A&E for 16 hours as my temperature needed to be brought down. On this day a Sunday it was wall to wall with many people requiring the service. I was put in a side room and checked on every 30 minutes. It took ages to find me a ward to go on. There was some confusion but eventually after 18 hours I i was put on Linnet ward in a side room. It was great to get off a trolley and into a bed. I do not have a complaint about this as I know how busy it was and getting a side room is more difficult.
The next few days were a blurr as I was so poorly. On antibiotic drips and saline drips. The nurses were amazing looking after me, on each hand over the nurse taking care of me introduced themselves. On one evening i was moved from my room to another ward Kingfisher at 23.30. I did find this very annoying as I was settled etc and had to get all my belongings together when still poorly and sleepy.
Now in a different ward but still had excellent treatment, the doctors came daily to update me on my recovery. I had bloods taken daily and again the staff were amazing.
I was in hospital for a week and I have great praise for all of the staff, nurses, doctors, assistants, cleaners and the staff delivering the food. Also the dinner time menus were very tasty but the evening meal was disappointing as I am not a fan of sandwiches.
Keep up the good work.
