"Unproductive hearing loss appointments"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I lost the hearing in my right ear around a year ago and was referred to the Hallamshire to undergo tests, I had an MRI which came back clear and then waited several weeks to get an appointment at he ENT clinic.  My appointment was  at 8.45 in the morning and I had to rush there, after waiting over two hours I was seen by a doctor who said he only did noses and not ears and I would have to wait again to be referred.  A new appointment came to have tests done for Meniere's disease which it had been suggested I had, I spent several hours of very uncomfortable test and was told that I did not have this and was made a further appointment to come back the see the ENT doctor again.  I have just been to see this gentleman today who has now told me that I am to be referred to see if I can get a hearing aid but is likely that I will be refused as I have only lost around 30 percent of my hearing ( I work as a full time receptionist) and was sent on my way, basically feel like the whole thing has been a waste of time and was treated very badly.
