New to the area. Saw the GP and they prescribed me with new medication to be reviewed after 4 weeks. 3 tablets a day but only provided 28 tablets. This means that in 9 days I would run out. On the packaging it states Take 3 daily once a day. Important warning- Do not stop taking this medication as it affects your heart. I read the packaging inside and it explained that the heart rate is affected by this medication. The fact the GP only prescribed me with enough for 9 days is ridiculous!!! And dangerous!!!
And for the 4 week review.. I mean, what review? They didn't book me into any appointments or make any notes regarding the conversation I had with...
For the past week I've attempted to rectify this. I've spoken on the phone to two receptionist after waiting for roughly 30 minutes both times. Both said they would speak to the GP and arrange medication to be sent to the pharmacy next door. I've walked to the pharmacy and asked and explained that the GP would request more but on both occasions there have been none and that I would need to talk to the surgery...
Ridiculous!!! Waste of time!!! Disgraceful. The fact that they havent passed the on message or the GP hasn't sorted it out is disgraceful. The oharmist probably thought I was trying nab meds or something!
Furthermore, in my appointment the GP also stated about another one of my meds and to increase the dosage from 1 tab to 1.5 tablets and if I tolerate it then increase the dose to 2 tablets...no notes written whatsoever on this change nor did they update the instructions so on my repeat prescription
I would have more tablets due to the half a tablet increase!!!! Riciulous! So the GP told me that I would need to take more but the trouble is the prescription box says 1 a day still and nothing about 1 and a half!!!! The box says follow the instructions and take the instructed dose in the box......so am I suppose to take 1 or 1.5 and when am I supposed to increase the dose to 2!?!?!????
Also, I think is quite strange that the receptionists ask what the problem is. It should be between me and my doctor...
The phone system you use is a joke also. A queue system...at least a 25 minute wait usually is a joke!!!
Also your phone system is faulty. Numerous people have also told me this too. When they try and call your surgery they can hear you but they cannot hear us...I did a test to double check if it was my phone, but I called 3 local business all very close to your surgery...the pharmacy next door, the one stop and the co-op - and just asked them for their opening times and closing times and all could hear me perfectly no problem. When you are in a call queue for 45 minutes sometimes, and to hung up on with a receptionist saying "oh I can't hear you..." Is a joke!!
Going forward
- Fix your phones
- Tell your GPs to write notes and ensure they prescribed the correct medication.
- improve communication between GP and the reception and the pharmacy next dior
"Extremely poor - would give it 0 if I could"
