"A/e visit"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital / Accident and emergency

sadly I was taken I’ll on a Saturday night

I was told a ambulance would be with me in 2 hours

This did not happen eventually I was called and told a taxi would pick me up eventually I arrived at a/e 3 hours after my call if I had been told earlier I could have taken my own taxi

Booked in and after 20 min I was taken into a/e

But parked in a corridor in a wheel chair

It was very cold an hour later I had blood taken I asked if I could lay down as only a day before I had a hernia operation and was feeling quite dizzy after about an hour I was taken to a cubicle and given a trolly bed to lay on no pillow or blanket just left no one seemed to know what was going on my problem was I was passing blood in my urine eventually a doctor came and said I had to wait while he got the results from my blood

Never see him again hours later another doctor came and said the same thing then said she needed to talk to her boss couple of hours go bye then a doctor arrived same doctor who did my hernia operation and was surprised to see me there checked me said I had brushing and a infection gave me antibiotics and said I can go home 9 hours later

I feel it was disgusting how people like are treated like this I think a review of the a/e system needs to be carried out

Animals are treated better than this

I do understand the staff are doing a difficult job and I understand they are bullit proof to patients

I see 1st had the idiots they have to deal with

The management. And thire bosses should be held to account

My name is Michael cobb

Thank you for your feedback and we offer our sincere apologies for your experience of your recent visit to the Emergency Department (A&E). This is most certainly not the service we strive to deliver and the matron would be happy to discuss with the issues you have raised with you if you wish to contact her. She can be contacted via our Patient Relations Team on 0118 322 8338 or by emailing talktous@royalberkshire.nhs.uk
