"Cannot contact the Podiatry Service"

About: Specialist community health services

(as a service user),

I recently received a letter from the Podiatry service stating that I had been taken off their list as I had not attended an appointment and they assumed I no longer needed the service. However, whilst it is right I did not attend, the reason I could not attend was that I was ill and had cancelled the appointment - so not entire accurate.

When I tried to call the Podiatry service following the receipt of the letter I  just kept getting a message saying 'busy, please try again later'. I tried several times at different times of the day to no avail.

I've since received a further letter with an appointment for me at Shepton Mallet. Seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Hello Greenne37,

I am really sorry to hear of the difficulties you have had with getting in touch with our Podiatry Service and understand that this must be quite frustrating for you.

I will speak to the Service Manager to find out what has happened and post a reply on here and in the meantime, if you would find it helpful to talk to someone directly, please do call our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01278 432022.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

Emma
