The speed competence and soft skills of the nurses and doctors I met during my very traumatic experience were everything anyone could have wished for. I was very frightened and they spent time reassuring me as well as implementing the rapid response to save my life.
The nurses , casualty doctors and cardiologist worked in a joined up manner, as an example they obtained an urgent Angiogram slot at Worcester RI to assess my condition and ensured I was returned to Warwick. The result was that I needed open heart surgery at Coventry or elsewhere. The cardiologist arranged urgent referral and I had a triple by pass within 5 days. I was transported to Coventry and was operated on within the planned timescale.
It is difficult to write reviews like this without naming individuals but I will do this separately via email to the Chief Executive. The overall quality of your staff is outstanding but within that I met some incredible individuals.
I am now looking forward to my rehab with the Warwick Physios and this is only thanks to the success of your earlier actions. I am truly grateful for my experience of your units and will look to try and do some fundraising on your behalf.
The only negative in the whole experience was around hospital transport via ambulance. The crews themselves were brilliant but I regret I must highlight the poor organisation, inflexible structures and impact on patients and health professionals. The services are fabulous but need the support of transport.
