"Wonderful ICU staff"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

Mum had a heart attack and was brought into A & E and quickly transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at RSCH. She was there for only 15 hours or so before she died. During this time we were shown nothing but graciousness, dignity, good humour, politeness and respect for everybody we had contact with. The staff all made our experience a little less sad and a little more comfortable and they all treated mum the way you would hope to be treated when the end comes. Thanks from Julie and Alex

Dear Julie & Alex

I am sorry for the sad loss of your mother, and would like to thank you for raking the time to feedback at such a difficult time.

Your description of her care reflects all that is best in the NHS and all that families have the right to expect in such difficult and distressing circumstances.

Clinical expertise and experience go without saying but compassion and kindness can never be overstated.

With best wishes to you

Jane Carmody
