I cannot praise wishaw general rheumatology dept enough for all their help and support over the past few months .
I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia, the consultant took time to explain a little about the condition and gave some really useful reading material and websites to look up .
I was referred to occupational therapy and managed to secure an appointment quickly due to a cancellation . Kirsty my OT was fabulous and took time to go through a series of questions and assess the range of movement I have as well as the areas of severe pain I suffer due to the condition.
Kirsty allowed me to cry, get angry and frustrated about my lack of motor skills etc, she allowed me to express my frustrations and helped me work through these with useful advice on equipment I can use to help me carry out basic tasks and techniques to help me avoid the boom and burst syndrome I experience on a daily basis.
The techniques and support I have received are helping me come to terms with my condition and for that I am eternally grateful .
