I was suffering severe sciatica pain as a result of spinal stenosis.
I was experiencing difficulty in walking and had got to the stage where I was contemplating the major operation recommended by my specialist.I was wary of the operation in view of my age (81) and had decided to "manage " the condition as best I could.i visited my GP to discuss my situation and he prescribed a low dose of amitriptyline. Within three nights of this medication my pain had gone. I couldn't believe it !prior to this treatment I had virtually decided that my gardening life was over .i was becoming very depressed .i am writing this to state that quite simply this treatment has changed my life.i am now weeks into the treatment with no recurring pain. I am now in receipt of my "get up and go". Thank you midway surgery and NHS of course.
