"Visit to ENT department"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Ear, Nose and Throat

Following a visit to the GP I was referred to the ENT department to see a consultant.

I saw one of his team (not the consultant) who didn’t really listen to what I was telling him.

The visit concluded with him prescribing a course of tablets (which had he have read my notes he would have seen I’d had them prescribed before and not been unable to take them due to a bad reaction) and told I would need to be seen again in 8 weeks. That appointment duly arrived for 12 weeks time not the 8 weeks that I had been told I rang the hospital and was told that that was the first available clinic.

Ok I didn’t like it but accepted it only to receive another letter cancelling the appointment.

The next appointment is in another 4 weeks making a total of 16 weeks since my initial appointment again I rang the ENT dept I was told the only way to change an appointment is for your GP to contact

them so I went to the GP who said she would write to them.

I heard nothing so rang to speak to the consultant’’s secretary who of course was not there (answerphone as usual) someone again not the secretary did get back to me and hold me that the secretary would look into it, a week has passed by and I am still waiting to hear from them.

Meanwhile my condition is getting worse everyday I just hope I’m still hear to atttend my appointment of course it may yet be cancelled.
