"Telephone calls not answered or calls hung up."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Older people's healthcare

Tried on 4 occasions today to call the ward. Once through the switchboard and 3 times directly in a bid to get an update on a relative. My call was returned to switchboard after 18 minutes and all my direct calls were hung up without a member of staff talking. I understand staff are busy but have tried at various points through the day.

It is clear from you posting how frustrated you have been left feeling in trying to contact the Ward.

All of our Wards are extremely busy and staff do try and answer the telephone calls in a timely manner which, at busy times, can be a struggle.

However, if you have concerns regarding a relative/friend and are unable to get through to the Ward, please contact our PALS team (myh-tr.palsmidyorks@nhs.net) who will ask a member of the Ward to contact you.

I will pass on your concerns to the Ward Managers.
