"Not the best stay."

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

My Dad was admitted to BRI hospital last Wednesday 26th November as his stomach was in severe pain and he was also throwing up. They did tests and gave him morphine, but couldn't find anything so they released him later that night. He got worse and my Mum called 111 in the early hours of Friday morning , who then sent for an ambulance. After arriving at the hospital, he then went in for major surgery that same day as they had found he had a blockage in his stomach, which after the operation they discovered it was a twisted bowl. if they hadn't of found it then and there, it could of been a worse outcome. My dad was in his own room after the operation, where he was very well looked after and the nurse were very good.

A few days into his stay, my dad was out onto a ward with other men. This was ok at first but the care wasn't the same. Some nurses didn't know what they were doing. Some of the nurses were strict and were rude to my dad and also other people on the ward. He has been in the hospital over a week now, he hasn't eaten as his isn't allowed with the operation he has had. But the staff just do not seem to be helping. It hasn't bee very good communication with what is going on with the care of my dad.

They told him they were going to put a food tube in today but then they told him they were too full to do it today.. and would have to leave him a few more days, where he will just be on the bag, keeping him hydrated. He needs nutrition in his body to keep him going!!

The beginning of his stay it all seemed to be going in a good direction but now it is going down hill..
